"Wedding Dress" was sold to a California collector who also purchased a painting of mine years ago. It's always a good day when I sell one!
This painting was a joy to do. It just came together so quickly. It's a copy of a UK artist's work by David Pierce. I love the way he sees and abstracts his paintings. I'm a great admirer of his style.
I love this original work. It's bright and cheery! Being quarantined during the virus pandemic has not affected my life as it has those who have lost loved ones. Although I know the grief of having a loved one die, as my son Walter left this earth a year and a half ago. I pray for the comfort of God to be with us all as this epidemic continues.
Is really the master bedroom in my new apartment. It has great big windows so the light is wonderful to paint by.
My painting titled, Blue Landscape is on exhibit at the National Humanities Center in Raleigh, North Carolina, from February 22 - June 22, 2019. This exhibit is in partnership with the Visual Arts Exchange, VAE, and juried by Joshua White photographer and professor at the Appalachian State University.
I painted this in my old naive style. I like to combine naive with abstract. I'm always learning with each new work I do.
This was painted as a thank you for a very kind woman, Pat Mitchell who I stayed with for many months while my son was hospitalized on Long Island. Long Island is a haven for artists who love to paint seascapes. This is one of them. It's a large painting, 30" X 40". I'm now back in North Carolina. Two hours away from the Outer Banks. One day I have to get out there.
